Airbus Deutschland GmbH intends to produce the Single Aisle Series Aircrafts of the type A320 in China, the first delivery is arranged for 2009.

The Final Assembly Line for Aircrafts will include all necessary production- and infrastructure facilities. It is located at a dedicated construction site at the planned „Tianjin Airport Industrial Park“. The construction site contains a useable area of 70 ha, which includes 60 ha for the production. All advanced production hangars have to be equipped with several media supply and disposal pipe lines. Furthermore high load vehicle roads, parking spaces, taxiways and apron areas for the aircraft series of A320 have to be implemented.

The construction of the production hangars and infrastructure measures are scheduled within two years. The supply and disposal facilities are designed for the requirements of final extension of the plant.

In addition to the design of operational surfaces and the infrastructure facilities, the scope of work carried out by Sellhorn also contains the cables and pipes for all media: 10/0.4 kV-electrical supply, data- and safety systems, heating technology, cooling technology, steam, condensate, compressed air, potable and process water, water for fire fighting, sewage as well as storm water (collection and discharge to the public sewer system).

The factory supply with primary energy and supply medias will be provided by external suppliers. Therefore piping systems will be connected with the public provider and deliver the media to the so-called powerhouse. Inside of the powerhouse the medias will be converted according to the requirements of production and distributed to the several production facilities of the area.

The main piping ring with all several supply lines has a total length of 2.6 kilometres. For the connection of the pipe lines to the deep founded production buildings, special solutions were developed to avoid damages due to the differences of settlement. A permanent supply will be guaranteed due to the installed ring system with two connection points to the powerhouse.

Storm water will flow of through ground pipes to the public system. The connection to the public rain water pipe takes place at several, already existing connection points along the whole north side of the area.

The height situation of the existing sewage pipe requires a free surface pipe system to the public main sewer. Connection manholes are foreseen between the factory sewage network and public pipe. Inside the connection manhole MID (magnetic inductive flow meter) are installed to control the maximum waste load of the water.

Concrete, concrete blocks is designated for the surfacing of the apron areas and the adjoining surface. The main road of the AIRBUS area will be built in asphalt. The apron areas will be implemented with a hydraulic bounded base layer. The other areas will be built with aggregate base layers. A total of 26 hectare area will be paved.
