Opposite the historical centre of the Hanseatic
City of Lübeck in northern Germany a first class hotel has
been built 1992 on the banks of the Trave river. By building another
storey on top of the hotel high value offices with a total space
of 3,642 m² have been added.
Sellhorn acted as project manager for the investor. Main task was
the control of quality, costs and program.
As the hotel continued to provide services during construction
(only 3 months closure allowed), extensive coordination was essential.
Sellhorn had also proofed the structural integrity of the existing
structure to support the additional floor. Several structural members
required strengthening due to higher horizontal wind loads.
