It is intended to construct a new quay wall and
terminal area with a raw sugar factory at Port Apapa, Lagos / Nigeria.
The project comprises the construction of approximately 245 m of
quay wall fully equipped to accommodate large bulk carriers, general
cargo vessels and container vessels, moreover dredging of an area
of approximately 245 × 60 m large rectangle to a depth of
CD 12.5 m. The handling of cargo will be done by two mobile harbour
cranes and a conveyor belt system. The terminal area will be designed
for the harbour operations with a heavy duty pavement. Additionally
two gates and an office were foreseen within the dedicated port
area.
Sellhorn
prepared the following topics:
- Definition of the design basis
- Static review of the existing quay construction
- Demolition works
- Layout of the new terminal
- Construction and static calculation of the new quay wall
- Design of media supply (hydraulic calculation etc.)
- Design of main gates and office buildings.
The listed works were prepared for the following design phases:

- Permission Design
- Final Design
- Tender Documents.
