Sellhorn meets Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines

With the start of construction work for the new Multi-Purpose Terminal in Kingstown, Sellhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft signed the contract for construction supervision on May 4, 2022.

At the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Gonsalves said: “This modern port is vital to the development of this country. The port of Kingstown is some 60 years old and it is crumbling and crumbling.” Prime Minister Gonsalves explained that the port modernization project comes with an aspiration to “build a modern, competitive, diversified, post-colonial economy – that is national, regional and global”.

Norbert Peetz, Managing Director of Sellhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft, said he was delighted to have been selected for the next phase of the port modernization project as Sellhorn has been involved in this project since early 2018. He explained that despite the challenges such as the eruption of La Soufrière volcano last year, work has progressed and the new port will play an important role in developing infrastructure and improving the import and export of goods.
