Visit of the TPA delegation from Tanzania in November

As part of a study tour, a delegation from the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) seized the opportunity to explore the Port of Hamburg two week ago. The study tour involved a team of TPA staff selected from various disciplines within the Authority. Its primary objective was to offer participants valuable insights into best practices related to cargo handling, covering aspects such as planning, engineering, logistics, transportation, and environmental considerations, as exemplified in the German port industry. Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to explore the networking dynamics among ports, logistics operators, and cargo users.

The study tour commenced with a warm welcome at Sellhorn's head office by Corinna Sellhorn, Managing Director of Sellhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, and Charles Bahizi, Director of Sellhorn Africa Consulting Ltd, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The program included a visit to various operational parts of the Port of Hamburg and concluded at Dar-es-Salaam Platz, a place named after Hamburg's Tanzanian partner city.

Since 2015, Sellhorn has been supporting TPA in ongoing project in the Port of Dar es Salaam to improve its performance, efficiency and economic development in Tanzania and neighboring landlocked countries.
